Thought I’d do a little catch-up here, as it has been… um, 3 months. Here we go:

• In June I got my black belt - I earned my black belt in Tae Kwon Do. Lots of hard work (and more than one injury) paid off.
• MWM! turns 50 - At the start of July Mistakes Were Made! reached its 50th strip.
• June Donation Drive Went Well - My donation drive for June brought in almost two-hundred dollars. Not too shabby.

It’s been a busy couple of months. Lots going on. More updates later. J out.

Just a quick update of how things have gone these past few days:

• I passed my Kumdo test and am now a 4th gup. Yay!
• I have gotten $76 US in donations for MWM! Considering I was planning on Zero–Nada, Zilch, The Big Goose-Egg–in donations this is quite a pleasant surprise for me. Thanks to all donating readers!
• I have started work unloading freight. The hours are early morning, which I love, but sometimes a wee inconsistent. It’s heavy, physical work, but that’s not a problem for me.
• In the last few days I’ve updated my donation graphics, made a strip, added an RSS feed, and made a forums Members-Only item for MWM! Whew, what a marathon. As with all Members-Only stuff, to see it you must sign up for a free forums membership. This month’s guest stars our forums member DG.

Thursday I test for 4th gup in Kumdo, the traditional Korean art of the sword. I know my stuff so I’m not nervous that way, but I am worried about my foot. i pulled a side tendon in my calf and it’s been giving me problems with that foot. I hope it doesn’t rear its ugly head during testing.

Nothing much else to report. Still working on MWM!, including a new St. Patty’s image:

November is over. Thank god. What a crazy month. the last two weeks were marked by a total C: drive failure and a vacation to my parent’s house. The last week I tested for and passxed my red-trim test in Tae Kwon Do. Hurrah for me!

Now that things have stabalized and my computer is doing a reasonable facsimile of working I have updated Kentou Underground. Nothin’ mo’ to say. BigJ out.

I am right now working to post my very belated page for Kentou. It will be up tomorrow morning.

In the last week I have competed in a Grand Championship for Tae Kwon Do. I didn’t win anything, but one of my sons took 3rd in his division. I am VERY PROUD! The assosiation I belong to, Brandt’s Assosication took over 390 trophies, as well as a special award to our Grandmaster, Spencer Brandt. Of the almost 1400 competitors, and 7 assosiations in attendence, that is a huge portion of the awards.

Starting tomorrow afternoon I am leaving on a 10-day holiday vaction. During this time I will be entirely off the Internet. My parents live rurally and have no broadband access, so no Net for me. When i return I will be working hard to finish one or two updates I’ll be drawing there (depending on how busy I am during the trip).

Tomorrow is open sparring at my dojang (Korean word for martial arts gym, kind of like dojo to all the kempo people). All a part of gearing up for the Chang Moo Kwan International Grand Championship this month. I am looking forward to competing, but not in sparring. I will be doing forms. My oldest son will be doing forms and sparring. November 11, the Fargo Civic Center. This is really a once in a lifetime thing, both the Grand Championship being held in America, and getting to be at an event with the Grandmasters and the Great Grandmaster from the Kukkiwon in Korea. Needless to say I am really jazzed to be a part of this competition. I do not plan on a trophy, just stepping in the door registered and ready to compete will be my goal.
